"I knew Brooklyn would become
my new Broadway obsession"

Ashley's Review: I have seen Brooklyn 3 going on 5 times. I first heard about the show through my friend Ally who runs the Eden fansite. We met up at Bryant Park on August 19th to see the Brooklyn cast perform. That day I also met many of the people "behind the scenes" in making Brooklyn, including the writers Mark and Barri. When the performance was done, Mark and Barri invited us back to the theatre to look around and talk for a little while (This was before the stage as set up). It was an amazing experience and they were so nice. From that point on, I knew Brooklyn would become my new Broadway obsession. I had already bought tickets to see the show, so by then I was even more excited. When the day finally came for me to see it (October 2nd), I ended up seeing the show twice in one day (the matinee AND evening show). My friend had an extra ticket so I was able to go twice. I have met the cast members numerous times... they are the sweetest and so incredibly talented! Some of them even recognize me whenever I stop by the theatre! It's all very cool.

My connections within the Broadway field have grown as well. For someone like me who dreams to work on Broadway that is pretty exciting. I worked for Producers Four (Producers of BKLYN) on October 20th to help them prepare for Brooklyn's opening night, and it was one of the best nights I've ever had. If you have heard of the 'BKLYN' pins that are being sold to raise money for BC/EFA under Eden's name, I am involved in that as well-making and selling the pins. My friends and I helped Mark and Jeff promote the show one afternoon at the TKTS booth, and I've currently been speaking with Scott to help arrange for Mark and Barri to come speak at my school. Oh, and did I mention that my friends and I dressed up as the characters for Halloween. My friend made me a skirt out of a twister board so could be Brooklyn, and the other two were Taylor and Faith (one big happy family!)

Basically, I am trying to be involved with this show as much as I possibly can. I truely L-O-V-E it. I promote the show to everyone I know because it really is an unbelieveable show. The first time I saw it, I laughed, cried and so many other emotions all-in-one! The storyline was incredible and the set/costumes and talented performers helped to complete everything. And not to mention that all the people involved in the show are some of the nicest people I have ever had that honor of meeting and getting to know.

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of seeing this show: GO BUY TICKETS NOW! You wont regret it. The show did get a few mixed reviews, but if you go into the theatre with an open mind and looking forward to having a great time, then that is what you will get out of it!
