Review: I don't quite understand how this how got such horrible reviews everywhere else. i loved the show! I sat in the front row and met the cast afterwards. They are some the of the humblest people I met that week in New York . It was also the only soundtrack I bought there from all the shows I saw. I recommend it highly!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : Family members
Review: I was on the edge of my seat from the energy, creativity, and magic of the characters, songs and settings! The imaginative storyline, interesting personalities, and dynamite music had me traveling with emotion through time and place. So many questions to answer. Would Brooklyn find her Dad? Who in the end should I root for. Brooklyn or Paradice? Will Taylor come through? Will the City Weeds gather enough to make it another day? Surely memories are not worthless! Go see it! This show is guaranteed to amaze you with its resourceful use of everyday items, emotional highs and lows, strong voices and music that will pop into your head days later. The cast, crew and orchestra may be small in number, but I think they are a BIG hit!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : walking past the theater
Review: Well I saw Eden in Wicked as the Wicked Witch so when I moved down to NYC for College I walked by her picture for Bklyn and I knew I had to see it. I adore the music the lyrics and the design of the show. It was amazingly put together and it is by far one of the greatest shows I think I will ever see. I was happy to see it opening night and to listen to the cast give advice and guidance to those trying to get into the buisness. Overall I enjoyed the show greatly and I thank the creative team for developing such an amazing show.

Review: I first was lucky enough to catch this show in previews back in October and I had no clue what the show was going to be like. Less than two hours later, and after having gotten the cast's autographs (how incredibly friendly they are!) I immediately started calling everyone I knew. It's a show that everyone can relate to on one level or another. The talent is jaw-dropping and while some critics may parallel it to other shows, there's really no comparison. This was definitely the most original and impressive show to open on Broadway in 2004.

Review: I have never been to a musical where every person on stage was a showstopper. They were the five strongest singers I've ever seen on stage at one time. It was one of the best theatrical experiences I've ever encountered. Best of luck in the Tonys this year!!!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : music teacher
Review: well, i was only going to be in the city for a couple days. so i had heard from my voice teacher about a new show called brooklyn, so i thought i check it out. i walked into a theater which was very elegant, then i saw a set that was unmatched. it was remarkable so elborate but nothing was extra everything that was there was needed. then she show started, from begining to the end i couldnt breathe. It was pure magic. From the incredible presence of the actors to the awesome sets and props. Most of all that kept me on the edge of my seat were the voices. Five of the best voices i have ever heard, all different and specific to each charecter which brings a whole new depth to the show. it was the funniest show i have ever felt the need to cry at.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : following Eden Espinosa from Wicked.
Review: For my very last undergraduate college class, I had the opportunity to do a self-designed independent study, called "Visual Communication and the Broadway Musical" in which I would travel to NYC for a week, attend 7 Broadway shows, and write a paper and design a presentation about all of the visual elements in these shows and how they helped tell the story. One of the shows I just KNEW I had to see was " Brooklyn ." When I finally saw it, I was flooerd. The set was perfect, every last bit of it functioning in some way to tell some part of the story, and as the cast interacted with it, I felt like I was interacting with it too. The costumes were even greater than I could ever have imagined. Such a creative use of everyday items! They really got my imagination going, helping me build the story in my mind as it unfolded on the stage. And while I wasn't there specifically to study the music, I couldn't help but come out of the theatre with not one but two songs stuck in my head! (In fact, even after seeing another show, the songs from " Brooklyn " are still the ones stuck in my head, and I'm not complaining one bit!)

Where they found out about Brooklyn : Eric Britt (friend at school)
Review: Hey! I recently went to New York to see only "Wicked" as a Sweet 16 birthday present. While we were there we walked over to the Avenue Q lottery. We did not win that night so we decided to go over to the Brooklyn theatre. I had heard from my friend Eric that it was great plus I knew my idol, Eden Espinosa was in it so I just had to see it! I'm happy to say I loved it!! Everyone's performance was amazing! The costumes were to die for (I told Romona that at the stage door lol!) and Eden just blew me away with those powerful pipes! The story was so moving and at times funny. I loved Paradice, she was a hilarious diva! Eden captured so much innocence in the role and Karen was a wonderful dancer! I also loved Streetsinger and the father (he reminded me of Kurt Cobain lol) The stage door was so much fun because I got to meet the whole cast and get pictures with them. When I saw Eden I said to her "Oh Eden, I was like, crying!" and she started laughing. She is so nice I hope to one day appear with her in a Broadway show! The rest of the cast was just so sweet and it was refreshing to see Broadway stars that actually care about their fans enough to come out after the show. I hope they stay sweet lol! Anyways I just wanted to thank you guys for such a wonderful show that really made my vacation special! After that I went to see "Wicked" and won the lottery for "Avenue Q" but out of those shows you guys definitely had the nicest, if not most talented cast! Much love and See ya on Broadway someday!, Kristy Marie

Review: I had a wonderful experience watching the show. The voices were/are phemonenal. The set was very creative it came out of what ever they could get(on the streets) everything on the stage was there for a purpose. They used every aspe4ct of the stage. The costumes were the most creative i have seen in a while. But on the other hand people are comparing it to RENT IT IS NO RENT! It is and amazing show but it is a totally different story and tone. So if you are a big RENT fan yes go see it but don't expect it to be like RENT. You cannot compare a show like this to RENT. Go and see BKLYN it was and always be an amazing show.

Review: Brooklyn was one of the most pheonominal shows i have ever seen. I was a little skeptical when i saw that there was only a 5 person cast but as son as I heard "A Heart Behind These Hands" for the first time i knew that it was going to be a great show. The cast couldn't have been better and the music was wonderful. I hope that the cast and crew continue to keep up the good work and keep the show running strong. And one more thing; Its clear to see that all of you have Brooklyn in the blood.

Review: Brooklyn , what can I say that hasn't already been said. It was phenominal to see a show where everyone was the strongest singer. It was like attending a rock concert with all your favorite artists wearing the most amazing costumes you've ever seen in your life! Best costumes 2005 Tony, I think so. And many more awards as well. Every single actor in this show, amazing it is only 5, were stunning and just so inspirational to watch as a student trying to make a career in this crazy feild! Not only was the cast amazing on stage, but off as well. They all took the time to sign autographs and take pictures with the fans after the show without making them feel like they were taking up thier time. So much of this is fan based that I wonder why more cast aren't like the Brooklyn cast. My new prized possesion is my poster signed by the whole cast! Thanks for an amazing show that if I could, would go see every week! -Stephanie

Review: In my 14 years of being alive I have seen many broadway shows and Brooklyn is way up there. One day me, my mother, my sister, and a whole bunch of other people were going to see the musical Rent but we couldnt get tickets and we then heard about Brooklyn , so we went to go see it. I was very excited because I heard a lot of good things about it from one of my old teachers and friends. As we were sitting in the lobby waiting for my mother to get tickets I was reading all of the signs in the lobby. I saw the sign that said there was no intermission and I knew that this show was going to be unique. After getting the tickets we left the theatre to go eat. When we came back to the theatre the line was out of the door and it was very hard to get into the theatre. As we got into the theatre I sat down and took one look at the stage and was in awe. The whole thing was made out of garbage. I watched the begining of the show and when "streetsinger" came out and started to talk to the audience it was amazing. The stage pressence of every single person in the show touched me (even thought there were only five of them). A lot of songs came and gone but one song hit me right at home (the heart). Once Apon A time. One thing about this song that makes it so able to touch you in this way is the fact that you can relate to it. Its about how people hurt, and how people love, and for a lyricist to be able to do this is a very extravagent thing. After seeing the performance of this song I had, had enough. I found it an honor to be able to see more of these actors/actresses. After the show we had talked to a lot of people about it. Then we waited for autographs. Everyone was so nice and then Eden came out. She was very appreciative of her "fans". You don't see that in a lot of actors/actresses now, but she was actually able to stand there and talk with us for a full half hour. A couple of weeks later Mark Schoenfeld and Barri McPherson came to my school and spoke to the whole acting program about their career together, and I found it amazing of how they met. They showed us a clip of Once Upon a Time and I just got the feeling that I was back in the theatre in those seats watching one of the greatest scenes that I have ever seen in a broadway show. Thank you, cast and crew, of Brooklyn for giving me this experience. The show was truly amazing.

Review: I went to see Brooklyn not knowing anything about it and when I saw the stage I was surprised! It was a really clever way to put a show together. The best part of the show was all the singing. Cleavant Derricks and Eden Espinosa really made the show for me. I was really impressed with the way Ramona Keller held that note in Raven as well! It's a captivating story and everyone should go see Brooklyn !

Review: I saw Brooklyn 1 week ago. It was my first play on Broadway. I can't stop humming the unfinished lullaby. My husband and I have the CD in our car and it hasn't stopped playing for over a week. We just can't get enough of the music. Seeing that play is now in my memory bank as one of the best experiences of my life. I've seen a lot of plays, but nothing compares.

Where they found out about Brooklyn: Im a huge musical theatre junkie and I hear about all these shows from everywhere, but I mostly heard about it from various connections w/Wicked because of Eden
Review: AMAAAAAAAAAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even tell you how amazed I was. It was amazing how this 5 person cast had more power than any 30 person cast I've ever seen. I had been listening to the music online and was already a huge fan of Eden Espinosa. I also got so jealous of all my friends at school who were always talking about how amazing the show was and I NEEDED to see it. I would walk around my house trying to hit that note at the end of once upon a time. I got really close a few times, but I could never beat the fabulous Eden . Well, after making my mom listen to once upon a time a billion times, she finally went online and bought tickets for December 23rd. I was sitting in my room and she came in with the order form and I FLIPPED. I was SO EXCTED! My mom got 3 tickets and me, my cousin and his friend went. I gave them tickets as Christmas presents. Well, after they got stuck on a train for 2 hours because of a broken track, and I sat at home, freaking out and pacing around the house waiting for them to call, I finally met up with them at the theatre. The show was like I said before UNBELIEVABLE. Now, I hardly ever cry at shows, but hearing Eden sing once upon a time live, I just lost it. There I was, sobbing in my seat in row L. Okay that was random. But yeah, thats what happened. So, after the show I got autographs. When Eden came out, I froze for a minute and then I finally got a word out..."AMAZING!" I'm such a sap. Everyone was amazing. I was in shock. I just finished watching Eden on the today show. Gosh, I can't get enough of that song. Two of my christman presents was the BKLYN CD and an pink mini ipod...you do the math. Well, lets just say that the Plymouth Theatre hasn''t seen the last of me yet. I'm officially obsessed. :-)

Review: I saw Brooklyn when it was still in previews. At first I was a little skeptical because the cast was so small. After the first song I thought to myself 'WOW!' This show touched me because it talked of hope and insperation. It taught me to keep believing and if I want something bad enough, I can achieve it.

Review: I saw Brooklyn for the first time Opening night. It was tremendous and I have seen it 4 more times since then. Although it is similar to Rent, the cast and music set it apart making this play much more likeable and enjoyable. Eden Espinosa is dynamite and has a voice that sets a new standard on Broadway. She should be a lock for a Tony nomination, as should the entire play. Bravo to all involved and may this play be one to set the standards for future plays to follow.

Where they found out about Brooklyn: I first heard about Brooklyn from my best friends who went down to NYC and saw Brooklyn .
Review: Ever since I saw Idina Menzel in Wicked last year I became a huge Broadway fanatic. So I was researching the show on the web just about 24/7 and that's when I heard about Eden . At that time I thought nobody could compare to Idina's Defying Gravity but when I heard Eden 's version of it....WOW. I was taken aback by her voice the first time, even after I had heard Idina a million times. So I heard about Eden Espinosa in Brooklyn over this summer and I kept that under daily research. I knew how powerful her voice was so I followed events on Brooklyn . Then Brooklyn opened up in October and I knew I had to go see it. 2 of my good friends went down to NYC and they told me all about it. They met one of the writers Mark and brought back pictures and autographs from Eden, Ramona and everyone. I was still trying to find time into my schedule to go down but I never got the chance. But I never gave up hope. I would never pass up the chance to meet Eden . The CD came out soon and so I made sure I got to the store and had my copy. For a person who hadn't seen the show then, boy did I know just about everything about Brooklyn . I was even trying to fit my twister board around my waist....Just kidding. I was supposed to go to New York and see Brooklyn after Christmas and before New Year's but my family in NYC was very ill so I was devistated. I would do anything to meet Eden or see her perform in Brooklyn but I haven't had a chance. But I won't give up, Not for Eden . I'm going to make sure I meet Eden sometime soon. Plymouth Theatre....HERE I COME!!!
