Where they found out about Brooklyn : New York Magazine

Review: My graying hair and the bifocals on the bridge of my nose set me apart from most of the audience lining up to enter the Plymouth Theatre for "Bklyn, the Musical." This seemed to be a show for young people and I felt out of place. Would I enjoy it? Should I leave? I gave my ticket to the usher and took my seat. I am happy I didn't leave before the show. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Friends asked me afterwards what I thought. I told them it was a show with a small cast, only one set, no production numbers, no dancing to speak of, no big special effects, no intermission...but music. Oh, what MUSIC! And what voices. At this performance there were two show-stopping numbers. The show literally had to stop and wait for the applause to end before it continued. It is just the beginning for Eden Espinoza and Ramona Keller. They are both ascending stars. My message is for the older members of the Broadway audience. Don't be scared away by the apparent appeal of "Bklyn" to the younger audience. We seniors can enjoy it just as much. The enthusiasm and exuberance of the young audience made it even more fun. I am encouraged to see young audiences coming back to Broadway and I am happy to share their enthusiasm for "Bklyn, the Musical".

Where they found out about Brooklyn : From a friend

Review: I was at the theater on day doing a light hang, when a friend of mine came running up to me with a CD in his hand. He runs up to ma and says " oh my gosh, you have to hear this its so good!! you will not beleive this womans voice!" Intrigued, we poped it into the sound system, and played out "once upon a time" down loaded from this website. I was left in awe, never before had i been so amazed by a recording! A month later, while visiting some friends in New York , My mom and I happened to have a free night, and naturally, i suggested a show. I glanced in the paper, and BKLYN caught my eye. Recognising the name from my friends CD, i new i had to see it. Thankfully since the show was still in previews, we were fortunate to get close seats for the very next night!! I cant even begin to describe the amount of emotion that this show envokes. From the first note of the first song through the last light cue, the show was amazing. adsolutly breathtaking. The voices, showcased by the small cast, were AMAZING, and Ms Eden shines as bright as one can shine on a broadway stage. The unique costumes, sets and concepts left me wanting more and the music left me invigorated. It is truly an inspiring musical, one that will stay with me for years to come. It makes you want to live your own fairytales!

Review: I have to say that as a theater major and performer, I have seen a lot of shows and had the privilege to have seen and worked with a lot of vocalists over the years. I can't remember witnessing such an amazing display of talent in one evening in a very long time. As a performer, the cast of this show has inspired me to be better and work harder. Their amazing talent has made me want to perform more than ever. I am so lucky to have seen this performance. I wish every one could!!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : at the TKTS booth

Review: I loved the show and it made me believe that there were still people out there that could write and create wonderful musical theatre. The sets and costumes were incredibly ingenius and magical. The plot was fun, interested and meaningful and the cast was top notch amazing. I came back to my friends at the theatre and the theatre critics in the Phoenix area telling everyone that the next chance they had, the must see Brooklyn . Loved it and was so happy I ended up there on a last minute afternoon rather than anything else on Broadway. I attended with my father who is a long time theatre enthusiast and our head pastor from my home church in Indiana . You can be sure that many themes from Brooklyn have been heard in sermons many times since seeing the show. We all enjoyed it thoroughly.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : My boyfriend's mother

Review: I have never been so moved by a show as I was at BKLYN. As soon as Eden sang "..and I'll sing my song, good and strong.." in "Heart Behind these Hands", I started crying. I was so unbelievably touched by this cast, they are so wonderful. As soon as I walked out of the show, I wanted to buy tickets for the next night. I met Eden & the whole cast at the stage door after the performance, and they were so wonderful and down to earth, it was just amazing how they are some of the most talented people I've ever seen, and yet they are so grounded. I said that BKLYN would be as big as RENT if not bigger, and I hope it becomes so, because it is absolutely the most perfect show for every age. The best thing I've -ever- seen <3

Where they found out about Brooklyn : A promo CD in the mail

Review: When I first received the promotional CD in the mail, I wasn't sure if I even wanted to give the show a try, but I saw Eden Espinosa's name and remembered her from "Wicked" - I had seen her play Nessa one night when everyone was sick. I fell in love with those 4 songs, almost immediately. In mid-October, I decided to go see Brooklyn , literally, on a whim. It was two hours before the matinee show and I just got on the bus and went into the city and bought myself a single seat. For the almost-two hour run of the show, I was amazed at the talent, the beauty, the aura of the entire cast and the show itself. That time, it was the weekend before the show officially opened and I just remembered thinking, "They should be open already... Forget the previews!" I waited outside for the cast members and seeing as Eden was the only cast member I really knew, I was disappointed that I didn't get to meet her but was incredibly thankful that I met the other cast members and the writer as well. Since then, I've seen more times that I can really count, both in previews (thank heavens for those long school breaks!) and after it opened. Every time I see it, it's as if something new happens and it's like I'm seeing it for the first time all over again. Every single cast member and orchestra member up on that stage vibrate with color and talent and I'm so grateful that they share it with audiences every day. And you can bet that I'm scheduled to see this show a whole bunch MORE times during my Christmas break!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : Playbill.com

Review: I went to Brooklyn not knowing what to expect. I had heard about it from emails from Playbill.com and I just thought it sounded good. I thought it was gonna be just ok but it ended up being one of the best shows ever. I was familiar with Eden from Wicked, that being my favorite play. It was just a really great show. It was really inspiring and really makes you appreciate life. I definitely want to see it again!

Review: After seeing three other musicals within that week, I came across someone at TKTS promoting the show. I gave it a shot, and was totally blown away by the performances. although I think this would be better in a smaller venue, it still rocked. Best voices on Broadway.

Review: I was searching Telecharge.com to order play tickets for my family's visit to NY and came across Brooklyn and was interested in the story line so I bought the tickets. We had front row seats - what an amazing show! The music incredible; magical; you can hardly not become so engaged in the moment. The entire cast was awesome -the chemistry between the characters was so evident and believable. Where they found out about Brooklyn : Broadway on Broadway

Review: My first Brooklyn experience was at Broadway on Broadway in Times Square . After an intro, I was ready for something mediocre, seeing as the show wasn't even open yet. But by the time the cast was done singing "Once Upon a Time," I had chills, I was in tears, I was stunned. I decided right then and there to buy a ticket. On October 22 I was treated to one of the best theatre going experiences of my life! Not only was the cast phenomenal, but the set and costumes only added to the awesomeness that is Brooklyn . I was especially amazed by how everyone on stage showed an obvious passion for their characters and the show. Anyone looking to see what a truly great time is, should see this show.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : From my Mom

Review: Since I was born in Brooklyn , I immediately felt a connection and obsession to seeing this new show. I was so excited! But some reviews told to us by a friend didn't sound like it would be appropriate for me to see, but nevertheless, with great anticipation off we went into the city to the Plymouth Theatre. I just want to say I loved the show more than anything, almost as much as Wicked! Eden Espinosa was magical. It all seemed so real, I could relate to Brooklyn as I would also seek out my father at any length especially if he loved music the way I did. I would know there was a bond that had to be mended. I recommend everyone to see this creative, beautiful musical. I want to return soon, but it's the type of show that I wish I was in the front seat because you can actually feel a connection to the characters. I want to be able to look into their eyes and feel their emotion. Hopefully during Christmas break we can get front row seats. I also didn't get to meet the cast after the show as it was late, next time I hope to go see a matinee, so I can hang around and wait to meet them in person. Brooklyn Bound!!!! You should be too! Bravo to all involved glad your dreams came true.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : from a co-worker

Review: Finally - after listening to the 4 downloaded songs daily for weeks, I travelled to NYC with a friend on November 20th, and had the chance to see and hear it all! My co-worker is right - "Mark is a genious". This music is everything - tender, strong, romantic, exciting! Add to such wonderful music these powerful performers and the show was magical. We cried, and cheered and hated to leave the theater. My only regret is that I never had the chance to meet Mark and tell him how much I love his music.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : news about Eden, my friend Deidre

Review: I still have yet to see Brooklyn , but I am planning on going in about a month. I became a fan of Eden 's in April when I saw her perform as Elphaba. Ever since then, I followed her career, and at the beginning of the summer, I heard about Brooklyn through the grapevine. All summer I anxiously awaited press articles, photos, and songs from this spectacular musical. My friends went to see Brooklyn in Bryant Park, and I heard amazing reviews. I remember waiting every Wednesday for a new song to come out on the site so I could know more about this show. Around the beginning of September, my friends Dee, Heather, Amanda, and I decided we wanted to do something for Eden when previews started. We decided to all get her little "diva" gifts and give them to her when Amanda went to see the show the day after previews started. We knew that Eden would need "diva essentials" when Brooklyn became a huge hit! I had the chance to go to the Brooklyn stagedoor on November 24th, and I met many excited fans there. They all said that the show was amazing, and they really wanted to congratulate all the actors. I finally got to meet Eden and Ramona, too! This is such a great show, I can't wait until I can finally see it and hear the songs live!
