Where they found out about Brooklyn : the mail
Review: The day I saw Brooklyn was such an amazing and uplifting experience. I have seen many Broadway shows but none of them inspired me as much as Brooklyn has. After receiving the sample cd in the mail I fell in love with the music and of course Eden 's voice! As I sat in the gorgeous theatre watching the show I anxiously waited to hear the "song of the show", Once Upon a Time. The song ended and tears ran down my cheek. I was so amazed by, not only Eden 's voice but the message in the song. After the show ended I was still in awe by the amazing performance. I was lucky enough to be able to meet the cast and the writer, Mark Shoenfeld. After talking to them and getting there autographs I really felt like I knew them. They were all incredibly nice and answered any questions I had. I absolutely loved Brooklyn and wish them the best of luck to everyone at the Tony's this year. I just wanted to thank the cast; the producers and anyone that helped pull Brooklyn together to make it such an awesome show. Now I really do believe in miracles!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : TKTS
Review: My mother came down to my graduation (from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy ) here in NYC and wanted to taked me to a Broadway show as a grad present. I heard that Brooklyn was a in previews and that it was worth seeing -- so I asked her if we could see it. Luckily there were tickets at TKTS. I am so glad we saw Brooklyn -- it is now my favorite musical EVER! Everyone in the cast is amazing -- vocally and you can tell that they are so passionate about what they are doing. Eden Espinosa should be on the radio! What an amazing voice -- I've never heard such an expansive, powerful sound. I got chills and tears in my eyed when she sang "Once Upon a Time." I'm saving up to take my friend in February. To everyone involved in Brooklyn : thank you for creating a piece of art that has given me (and many others) hope, warmth and a great time!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : Playbill on Line
Review: Just concluded my annual trip to NYC with a group from Maine and expressly looked forward to seeing BKLYN the Musical. I have never seen a show where the cast was able to hold the audience in the palm of their hands such as this phenomenal cast. I wished I lived closer so that I could experience this wonderful show again; it literally is a musical homily. At one point I do not think that there was a dry eye in the house. Patiently waiting for the release of the Cast CD of the show! How about a DVD?

Review: Brooklyn was simply amazing. The story was heart felt and the performances were tony worthy as were the unbeleivable costumes and set design. to the critics who said that the show was bad, well, i think they need a new job. Eden Espinosa is simply beautiful in this role which will launch her career and Ramona Keller will win a Tony as will Eden . You can mark my word. God Bless Brooklyn !!!!

Review: Well to begin with I had first row seats,so even if the show bombed it would have been an awesome experience. Fortunatley it didn't bomb, quite the contrary,It blew me out of the water. INCREDIBLE! Those voices, those sets, those costumes! And the story! Not enough words to explain my appreciation for Mark Shoenfeld (who by the way was outside the theatre after the show) I had the most amazing time that day and hope to return again soon...go see it!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : through the college theatre department
Review: I went to NY with my college's theatre department, and saw Brooklyn the night that the Red Sox won their first World Series since 1918 - at prior to seeing the show, it upset me a lot that I would miss such a historic baseball game. But once I got into the theatre, and I was watching this amazing performance, it was like nothing else existed. Definitely a show worth seeing - it was just an incredible experience for me. Outstanding cast (and I did notice that Red Sox hat Kevin Anderson wore), amazing voices, beautifully written and produced show. Even my boyfriend couldn't stop talking about it! Great, great, GREAT show.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : saw the marquis
Review: the luckiest part of my life so far was seeing the bklyn marquis from times square. the second luckiest was happening to get box seats right on the stage. for the next hour and 45 minutes i was glued to the seat and my eyes and ears swam in the most fantastic sounds and sights they've seen before. i wish i could see the show everyday. the only thing i regret was not being able to meet the cast in person and tell them how amazing they are and how much more i want to pursue a theatrical career after seeing their show.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : Broadway.com
Review: Every year, there are a few new shows that appear on Broadway. Most of those shows end up being alright. Some last, some don't. Some are keepers, and some aren't. " Brooklyn ," which recently opened on Broadway, IS indeed a keeper. In fact, it's the best thing that's premiered on Broadway in a long time. It is hard to compare " Brooklyn " to other shows, as it is completely unique. However, I can tell you that in comparison to what is on Broadway now, " Brooklyn " Is only rivaled by "Rent." That's right, " Brooklyn " is better than "Wicked." So what makes " Brooklyn " good? Put together one of the most talented groups of people that you will EVER see on stage, singing some of the most beautiful songs EVER written-- I swear, there really isn't one bad song in this whole show, which is rare nowadays-- coupled with one of the most genuine stories of creation/formation (who wouldn't love the story of how Mark and Barri reunited and brought "Brooklyn" to the stage) and you've surely got something spectacular. Not only is the cast very talented, but they are also very sweet. If you happen to meet any of them at the stage door, they will stop and talk to you, oblige you with an autograph and a photo (if you request either of them). Also, unlike most shows, " Brooklyn " is rare in that you can generally meet one or both of the creators standing outside of the door, and sometimes the director as well. They are all the nicest, most genuine people, who really care that you are taken with their show and that you are coming to their show. If you see them, talk to them!!! Don't hesitate. What else can I say that hasn't already been said? " Brooklyn " is truly a genius, heartfelt, and completely realized first time production from Mark Schoenfeld and Barri McPherson (along with the brilliant direction of Jeff Calhoun ). There aren't many shows that you will see that will stay in your head weeks after you've seen it, and make you want to return to the theatre for a second viewing. " Brooklyn " is one of those shows. Like the city in which the borough resides, " Brooklyn " is a rare gem. Go see it.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : My Friend who works in the company
Review: I really enjoyed Brooklyn . My good friend got me tickets because she knows how much I love musicals and because she thinks I may be a good propect for a role on this show. I think the cast is phenomenal and they totally carried the entire score! The story line grows on you and I love how simple they kept everything. I'm a professional singer and I know how hard it can be to get a whole set of people who can Saaaanngg!! Wooh! I was really impressed by everyone's range and interpretation of the songs. The whole audience was immersed in the story after just 5 minutes, and it only got better and better as the story unfolded. I hope this show stays around for a long time. It's nice to hear some great, soulful singing back on broadway! Who knows, maybe you'll see me up there singing "Once Upon A Time" one day soon!! Great Job To The Entire Cast & Crew!! If you haven't seen the show yet, get to it!!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : Broadway on Broadway
Review: The moment I heard Eden singing "Once Upon a Time" at Broadway on Broadway, I knew " Brooklyn " was a show i really wants to see! So one day, my mom and I decided to get Rush tickets " Brooklyn ". I really could not wait to see Eden Espinosa because I saw her an Nessarose in the new musical "Wicked". So my mom and I got front row tickets for Brooklyn . We met Mark Schoenfeld & Scott Prisand before the show. That was really exciting! Then the show began at 2:00 . The moment the whole cast came out, I was so excited! I could not believe the set and especially the costumes! The songs were absolutely wonderful! The show was amazing and I'm really excited to see it again!

Where they found out about Brooklyn: Through a CD trial for Brooklyn
Review: When I went to go see Brooklyn , it was still in previews. I thought that it was absolutely fantastic and I was blown away by the fascination in every single cast members' personality. The voices were fabulous as well. After the show had ended, I went outside to see if I could get the autographs of the cast members. I was shocked that once I had stepped out of the theater I had become an ant in an immense crowd of people who had just seen the show as well. Everyone had loved the show along with me and had decided to wait to get autographs. It was a remarkable sight and I don't think that I saw one person leave before every cast member had left the theater. I was in awe and before the night of that same day was over, I think that I had memorized every single lyric from the trial CD. For the next couple of days after seeing the show, I talked about Brooklyn non-stop and found myself unable to describe it's magnificence to the fullest extent. I would definitely recommend Brooklyn to anyone and I classify it as one of my favorite Broadway shows (and I've seen them all).

Where they found out about Brooklyn : John McDaniel 's website
Review: I first heard about " Brooklyn the Musical" from musical supervisor, John McDaniel 's website (johnmcdaniel.com). Anyone who's ever met John (or attended one of his concerts/cabarets) has been immediately drawn to his amazing talent, humble personality, and fun-loving sense of humor. As a result... I saw " Brooklyn " in Denver FIVE times last year! I kept finding 'celebrations' to expose friends/family/colleagues to its extraordinary talent, message, and creators! At the second show, I recognized Barri and Mark (writers/creators) from their picture in the Playbill and introduced myself. They were incredibly approachable, witty, and down-to-earth! They've welcomed hugs, humor, and communication every show since! You MUST introduce yourself to them; they're as wonderful as their 'story'! So far I've seen " Brooklyn " ONCE in NYC! Even though I knew what to expect, I still laughed, cried, and swayed (to the music)! The changes from the original Denver run were exactly what were needed to solidify the storyline! Tobin's awesome costume designs were expanded upon; I completely love Eden 's newest white "gown"!!! It's the perfect example of dichotomy of good vs. evil (Ramona's already existing black "gown"); Brilliant!!! The creativity and simplicity of the set magnifies the story! Even though Cleavant and Kevin weren't in Denver , they've added to the continuity of the show's history and long-standing relationships as all the actors laughed and exchanged winks and glances with ease; their faces were very enjoyable to watch! Karen's expressions are my favorites as she wears so many hats! And their voices.HELLO!!! Each of the five is incredibly gifted in their own rights! The term "powerhouses" would not be too extreme a noun to describe them! (I guess all the standing ovations would support that!) If you can't make it to NYC any time soon, you MUST treat yourself to the cast recording being released in December!!! And when you do hit NYC, be sure to introduce yourself to ALL the wonderful people involved with the show. they are truly the cement of the entire production!!!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : Music Sampler
Review: When I first received my Brooklyn the musical sampler cd in the mail I knew I just had to see the show. The casts voices were phenominal as well as the songs. I kept trying for tickets and waited until I could get good seats. I finally got tickets in the end of October, no one could go with me so I went alone, I wasn't missing out on the chance of seeing this musical. Even with some of the negative reviews I refused to listen, I just knew the show had to be great. I arrived at the theater, picked up my ticket and got on the line to enter the theater. As I was putting away my ticket, a man came up to me asking for spare change for a McDonald's hamburger (I never know if they really need the money for food or booze). I gave him a quarter. As I was watching the show I couldn't get the man out of my head. The theme of the show is "give only what you can." I started to feel bad, here I have plenty of money in my wallet and all I gave this man was one lousy quarter. I then thought that maybe if everyone he asked had seen this show, they may have thought twice about turning him down, as did many of the people surrounding me on the line. I think the story was great and all of the performers really did an outstanding job. I can't wait to see Brooklyn over and over again, it is one of my new favorite musicals and I hope it makes broadways "longest running list" in the years to come!!!!!!!!!

Where they found out about Brooklyn : Through friends
Review: For the past few years, I've been a fan of all things Broadway. I've seen shows numerous times and am always looking for new shows to see and new actors and actresses to admire. Several months ago, friends of mine were talking about this new show that was opening on Broadway called BKLYN and the title itself was enough to make me want to go and see it, since it sounded so interesting and I wondered what a show about one of the five boroughs could possibly be about. I finally got tickets to the show as a birthday present around mid-October while it was still in previews and I attended a matinee performance. The show was wonderful. The clever use of trash to make costumes and props and even entire sets truly impressed me. The music was something that you'd love to blast out at a party and dance to and some of the lyrics were wonderfully inspiring. The cast themselves were what really stood out from the rest of the show, though--these people are so talented that you really begin to wonder why it took so long for their talents to be recognized. They are also equally amazing both onstage and off. BKLYN, I think, is a show that will genuinely affect you if you stop and let it. I recommend that anyone who has ever wanted to be inspired or simply hear great songs being sung by great singers, should give this show a chance.

Where they found out about Brooklyn : My friend
Review: Well my Brooklyn experience began when my friend, Andy, a couple of tickets. Brooklyn was in previews at the time so I hadn't heard anything about it. So I go in a sit down and wait for the show to begin. The setting was small enough to be intimate and give a wonderful perspective but, as I was about to find out, definitely not big enough to house such wonderful voices. The story is told through many an uplifting song with reat wit and a wonderful heart. The finale is amazing I kept saying to myself "A Diva-off? This is quite possible the best thing EVER!!!!" I left singing the lullaby and trying to belt out the high notes that I definitely could not reach. Quite Simply: Brooklyn is Brilliant
